A Delta Airways flight collided with one other aircraft whereas taxiing from its gate at Boston’s Logan Airport. The wing tip struck one other aircraft whereas it was backing up. See the pictures right here.
A passenger on Delta’s flight DL458 tweeted out photos of an accident involving the aircraft she was on when it collided with one other Delta jet whereas within the taxi section of its departure Friday night. Samantha Butler, a UCLA professor, was touring from Boston’s Logan Worldwide Airport (BOS) when her flight began backing up solely to collide with one other aircraft.
The Boeing 757 struck a close-by parked CRJ-900 in response to WCBV information. Each planes have been Delta jets.
She later tweeted, “The Delta pilot simply backed the aircraft into one other aircraft. Prefer it was rush hour or one thing. And no, he didn’t apologize. Didn’t even sound embarrassed.” A subsequent tweet famous that Delta had provided passengers a $15 voucher for meals.
All’s nicely that ends nicely when their flight did lastly take off and make it safely to its ultimate vacation spot after Delta Airways discovered one other aircraft. Butler was fast to notice that it was the tug driver who brought on the accident and never the pilot.
In keeping with Boston 25 Information, Delta issued a press release noting, “We apologize to our clients for the inconvenience and delay of their journey plans following minor, low-speed contact of Delta flight 458 with Endeavor flight 5488, working as a Delta Connection. All clients and crew members deplaned safely and usually.”
